General Aviation Insurance Basics

Your choice of aircraft will determine much of the cost and availability of aviation insurance along with your ratings, hours, and time in make and model.  

Obtaining Aircraft Insurance

If you have a current policy on an aircraft you should stay with your agent because if you cancel your current coverage and don't add another aircraft you may have to pay a short rate cancellation penalty. Although we are not in the insurance business we still want to offer our clients full service and the best insurance we can find! We have had dealings with many direct insurance companies and agencies over the years and currently only use and recommend one.

You should be able to provide the following information to obtain an aviation insurance quote;

Owner's Name and any pilot's authorized to fly the aircraft, Pilot's Age, Ratings Hours Time in type Medical date Any Waivers Any aviation losses Any accidents, incidents, violations or suspensions Liability limits you would like Insured hull value Aircraft year, make, model, N number and total time on aircraft.  Also, please let us know if you will you hanger or tie down the aircraft, and provide the aircraft's home base and location.
